Align Yourself with God

The Power of Prayer

And Jesus went into the temple of God and cast out all those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, It is written, "My house shall be called the house of prayer"; but you have made it a den of thieves.

Matthew 21:12-13

My aim in preaching this message on prayer is to stir up a desire to pray and seek God. I feel that the Holy Spirit is wanting to birth fresh prayer in your life. This message is to encourage you to go again in your walk of faith and prayer life. to pray means to commune with God. to become one with God is to be aligned with God.

In my mechanical days, I did many wheel alignments on cars. I would set a car up on a wheel alignment machine, and make adjustments to the caster, camber, toe in, or toe out of the front wheels. The front wheels were aligned with the rear wheels, and everything was running smoothly. incorrect alignment would mean tyre wear, use more fuel and higher costs. I could easily push a car that was all in alignment. it is the same with you and I as in alignment with our Father in heaven.

We need to put ourselves into a position in prayer, and our spiritual walk, so that prayer flows and less effort and energy is required to see our prayers answered.

'The day Jesus got mad.' We have a mental picture of Jesus the God Shepherd putting the lamb on His shoulders and carrying it to safety. The story of Christ feeding the 5000 with bread and fish. When I think about Jesus dying on the cross to pay for my sins, I am deeply moved. Think about Jesus bursting out of the tomb, alive on resurrection morning. but there is a picture of Jesus, who starts to clean house. all by himself Jesus started pitching over the tables, blocking people who were carrying things, and saying "Get out of her with that!"

He said my house shall be a house of prayer. He was quoting Isaiah 56:7 'House of prayer for all nations. He did not call it a house of preaching or singing, but prayer. We need prayer back in the church!! People say of we need prayer in the schools. What we need is prayer in the church first, then it will come into the schools. What would happen to our nation, or your nation, if on a  Sunday after building an atmosphere of prayer and worship, that all the people with one voice cried out for revival and a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit over the land!!

There would come an acceleration of the move of God.

My heart is burning as I write this message that the Holy Spirit will burn in your heart and you will start praying.
