And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart form Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which He said “you have heard from Me,” for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. Acts 1:4-5
Spirit Life Church, is about the life of the Holy Spirit, working and moving in the hearts of God’s people. This year in 2018 we want to go deeper and further in the River of God. We want to keep the life of the Holy Spirit in all that we do. He is the Helper and Foundation of our Christian walk. Jesus said it is to our advantage that He go back to the Father, and would send the Holy Spirit to earth John 16:5-7. It is the Holy Spirit that we need in our midst today. We need His power and anointing in every worship service. Whatever it takes for the Holy Spirit to use me unconditionally is what I am willing to do. I will not settle for anything less, than the breath of God and a mighty enduement of the Power of the Holy Spirit in my life driving me forward and accomplishing His goals.
We must Hunger for God!! If we are to be the Church, God can bless and use in the generation, we need to be so saturated with the Holy Spirit that everything within us illuminates the Spirit of God to the world around us. God will move again. I am confident of that. History declares this truth repeatedly. The problem is there are very few people prepared for a move of God in their lives. Don’t be satisfied with what you have, let a hunger for more build up in you. Only the Holy Spirit can fill a void that we try to fill with so many things in this hour.
What is the Holy Spirit? He is a person, Jesus said “and I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another helper (comforter), that He may abide with you forever.” John 14:16 The Holy Spirit has a personality, individuality, intelligence, love and memory. The Holy Spirit can communicate with you, He can love you, and He can be grieved and quenched when you ignore Him. Many will acknowledge Him as a person, but then not go the next step and experience the intimacy of the Holy Spirit as a person. In John 14:16 Jesus said “another Helper that means that the Holy Spirit is just like Jesus in every way, the Holy Spirits purpose and focus is to Exalt Jesus and will demonstrate Jesus to us John 14:26
In 1973 both Colleen and I were baptized in the Holy Spirit and spoke in other tongues, as it was on the day of Pentecost. Acts 2:1-4 Today 45 years down the road I can say that I have not pressed into all that He has for me. Last Sunday I went forward for a fresh touch form Heaven, as Pastor Robyn and Alan had come back from Bethel Church in Redding California, where they had been in the fire for a few weeks. Almost all the church came for prayer. Since then I have felt such a desire for more of the Holy Spirit and His love.
As the Pastor and founder of Spirit Life Christian church, I will not settle for less than all that the Holy Spirit can and wants to do in my life, and the life of the church.
