Arise and Shine - Pastor Stuart Price

Arise, shine; for the light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen

    upon you.

    Isaiah 60:1

We have just celebrated our 11th birthday as Spirit Life Church. A great

celebration it was. People shared testimony of their love for the church.

Children have been learning about the Lord’s Prayer, and they recited it

aloud and sang a song. We cut the cake and speeches were made. What a great

family church we have. Both Colleen and I are very excited about all that

the Lord has done over the years and the best is yet to come!

Our scripture for the year is what Isaiah spoke thousands of years ago, and

his words still ring out loud and clear today.

It is like a double command “Arise” then “Shine” It is the will of God that

we rise to a greater height in all areas of life and show forth His purpose

and glory in order to attract others to the kingdom.

Jesus Christ, the light of the world, will shine out of you and I John 9:5

Jesus said ‘as long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.’

Then in John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again saying. ‘I am the light of

the world, He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light

    of life!’

Christians should be the happiest people on earth. We are blessed in so

many, ways and God has poured out His love on us all!! I urge you to

“Arise” and live. Change your focus from the problems to the answer “Jesus

your light.’ You hope, your salvation, So many of God’s people live such a

defeated and downtrodden life, with an attitude that God is dead. No one

would want your Jesus if that is how they see you live.

I have heard people say, ‘I will be happy when’ When I get rich when I get

married when the kids leave home when I leave school when I retire. All

future based or they live in the past. I was happiest when I was working, I

was the happiest when I left home when we sang those old songs...

I say be happy NOW our happiness in Jesus, not things or people or

    materials,.

The command “Arise, Shine” Isaiah 60:1 has wide applicability and is meant to transform lives if obeyed.

Sinners can become saints, the downcast can become uplifted, failure can

turn into success, weeping can be changed to joy, the rich can get richer,

the sick can be healed. In fact, any abnormal situation is tantamount to

darkness and can be reversed when the light of God comes to that situation.

Jesus Christ, the light of the world, is the source of solutions to all

life problems. Anyone who wants to arise and shine must connect with Jesus

by accepting Him as his/her Lord and Saviour, know His words and do them

Your arising and shining will be unstoppable in Jesus name.

Have an amazing faith-filled a week.
