Arise & Shine - Pastor Stuart Price

2018 has gone & 2019 is here. I feel the scripture for our church for

this is year is from Isaiah 60:1

“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen

    upon you.”

This is a year of increase in many things, for the world – harder times

will come & for the church – a year to shine all the brighter with the

glory of the Lord. It’s a year to take a firm stand & expand our

territory for the Lords purpose through intense prayer. When the world gets

darker, the light that is in it can shine brighter – that light is in those

that are filled with God’s Spirit & it is our role to be a light to

    those around us.

We must tell others about our wonderful, true God:“in mighty signs &

wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God” Romans 15:19

“Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; Nor are there any works

like Your works. All nations whom You have made shall come and worship

before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name. For You are great and do

wondrous things; You alone are God.” Psalm 86:8-10

    Read Psalm 44:1-3

Question: Which is easier? Which is right? To make your bed in the morning

or leave it unmade? To spend time fervently praying for a friend or to

watch TV? To wash, wax & vac your car or just leave it?

Leave your car parked in a field & over time it will rust & fall

apart. The same will happen to our spiritual life unless we continue to get

fresh injections of energy by maintaining our spiritual disciplines of

daily feeding our spirits on the Word & spending time praying in

    English & in tongues.

The answer lies in our personal values – what we value, we will give honour

    & priority to.

Word from the Lord in last service of 2018 (paraphrased): “I haven’t

forgotten the dreams & hopes things which I have put into your heart.

Just as for Lazarus’ tomb, roll back the stone & call him to come

forth. Call your hopes & dreams forth. Trust in Me. All is not lost,

    says the Lord.”

Be aware that the enemy will use the tool of discouragement &

    condemnation

Stand against this with the sword of the spirit speaking aloud “I am

confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will

complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippines 1:6

Determine in your heart & soul that this year will be a year of prayer

    & continually walking a Spirit-filled & Spirit-led life.

What would have happened to Peter in Acts 12 if the church wasn’t

    constantly praying?

INTENSE FERVENT PRAYER = moves Heaven to do what it may not ordinarily do

& makes much power available to that righteous person of faith. Jesus

encourages us to not give up in our prayer but continue to ask, seek &

knock until we see it come to pass Matthew 7:7

As spirit-filled believers we must pray more. We carry the presence of God

within us & we must be good stewards of what has been given to us. If

we won’t pray, it’s because we do not see the value in it. The same applies

to all things natural & spiritual in our life – consider what are your

    priorities.

Let us stir ourselves up to be good stewards of the treasure that we have

within us; praying continually faith filled prayers, talking to the

mountain & not about the mountain, giving glory to our faithful God. Be

excited & expectant to see what great things God will do through our

lives this year in 2019 when we get into prayer, personally!

    Warm Blessings
