But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
As I woke the other morning, I heard God say ‘Don’t let people forget my love.’ I lay in bed thinking about these words, whispered into my spirit. What a strange thing for God to say, I thought to myself. Why would He say such a thing? Maybe because so many have forgotten, how much God loves them.
When in a storm, or a deep valley we can feel all alone, with no way out. We may say if God loves me, why has He not done something? Why would He allow this to happen etc? Our minds become so full, of so many things and thoughts that we do forget how much He loves us.
The opening verse in Romans 5:8 God demonstrates His love for each of us, in sending Jesus to die, long before we ever knew Him.
John puts it this way ‘We love Him because He first loved us’ 1 John 4:19 also John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life’
Let me ask you this question. “Have you forgotten how much God loves you or how much He cares for you?
In Hebrews 13:5b ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’
1 John has a lot of say about God and His love.
1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is Love.
Never was a more important declaration made that is - “God Is Love”. This is a profound statement. God doesn't just love, He Is Love. His nature and essence are love. Love permeates His very being and infuses all His other attributes, even His wrath and anger. Because God’s very nature is love, He must demonstrate love.
God’s love is personal. He knows each of us individually and loves us personally. His is a mighty love that has no beginning and no end.
Colleen said that on Sunday morning, during worship, as she had tears in her eyes, ‘I was bathing in God’s love.’
So back to what I heard in my spirit. “don’t let people forget my love.’ So many things, and so many voices, with the pressures of life, God’s love can become just a blur.
If this has happened to you. God has not moved away. You have moved away from Him.
Deuteronomy 6:5 is one of the most profound verses in the bible, and Jesus quoted it in Matthew 22:37-40 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, will all your soul, and with all your might.
Start to do this today, and everyday of your life and so many things will turn around for you, as God’s love will flows into and out of your heart.
Have a blessed week
