Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who
loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God,
for God is Love. 1 John 4:7-8
God’s love didn’t begin at the time He created the universe and man. There
was not a time that God started loving, love was already there. Where God
was, there was love, where God is there is love, where God is there will
always be love.
God is Love 1 John 4:7-21
Mark was walking home from school one day when he noticed the boy ahead of
him had tripped and dropped all of the books he was carrying along with two
sweaters, a baseball bat, a glove and many other items. Mark knelt down and
helped the boy pick up the scattered articles. Since they were going the
same way, he helped to carry the burden. As they walked Mark discovered the
boys name was Bill. Bill invited Mark in for a drink and some eats and over
the years they formed a close relationship.
Finally the long awaited senior year came and three weeks before
graduation, Bill asked Mark if they could talk. Bill reminded him of the
day years ago when they had first met. “Did you every wonder why I was
carrying so many things from school that day?” asked Bill. “You see, I
cleaned out my locker because I didn’t want to leave a mess for anyone
else. I had stored away some of my mothers pills and I was going home to
commit suicide. But after we spent some time together I realised that if I
had, I would have missed that time and many others that would follow. So
you see, Mark, when you picked up my books for me that day, you did a lot
more, you saved my life.”
Jesus Christ did a lot more than just healing the sick. He not only lived
as perfect life in our place, He died for us so we can have eternal life.
He rose again from the dead to warrant that we will also be risen and live
with Him forever and ever. This passage contains the greatest single
statement about God in the whole Bible that God is Love..
Romans 5:8 For God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we
were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John had first hand knowledge and experience of the Love of Jesus. He
walked with Christ on earth John 13:23 He heard and saw the things that
Christ spoke and did. So in his book 1John 4:8-9 He who does not love does
not know God, for God is Love. In this, the Love of God was manifested
toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we
might live through Him. Then in Verse 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we
also ought to love one another. The day you were born again by the Spirit
of God. The very nature of Christ came into you, and changed your heart,
your thinking, your motives and your actions.
Did you see what John said Live Through Him and Jesus Lives Through You! It
is easy to say “I Love God” This is how you can say you really love God, by
loving others. Show your love to your bothers and sisters in the Lord and
your love will be flowing out to the unbelievers.
God commanded us to love. Love comes from God and love leads back to God.
Much Love and Blessings
