Hearing the Holy Spirits Voice
As they ministered to the Lord and fasted The Holy Spirit said ‘ Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work which I have called them’.. So being sent out by the Holy Spirit. Acts 13:2-4
Over the past few weeks we have been looking at How to hear God’s voice, the voice of Jesus and now the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said in John 10:27 ‘My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow me.’ Then in 1 Samuel 3:4 The Lord called Samuel.
Heaven is speaking in this hour. When we read God’s word His voice is loud and clear. If you read a book, and you know the author well, you can hear him in the pages of that book. Many years ago Barry Smith would be teaching on End Times, and in his books, you could hear him loud and clear.
It is the same way today, as we draw closer to God well read and study the word, we will know His voice. In John 14:7 Jesus said ‘If you had known me, you would have known my father also.’ The book of Acts is full of scriptures about the Holy Spirit, leading and directing men and woman to extend God’s kingdom. The Holy Spirit is on earth, and we are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Carriers of God’s Presence on earth. The church of the Living God we can walk in power and authority, directed by the Holy Spirit.
You and I are New Testament, Born again, Spirit filled, believers and open to hearing ‘what the Holy Spirit has to say to us.
The disciples fasted and prayed and yielded to the Holy Spirit. They waited to hear His voice and direction. God’s anointing comes upon yielded vessels. As we mature in Christ, we can yield more fully to the Holy Spirit and live in that realm. The only way to stay in the realm of the Spirit is to spend time alone with God.
The Holy Spirit will be our guide. Acts 16:6 They were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. Verse 7 The Spirit did not permit them. The Holy Spirit plays a big part in our lives. We see in Mark 13:11 for it is not you who speaks but the Holy Spirit. Wow. This verse is saying Don’t worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. Open your mouth and He will fill it Psalms 81:10 We all have to believe that God will use us and the Holy Spirit will guide and direct us on the path of Life and Victory. He will also teach us and open up our understanding to the Word.
All the way through the Book of Acts, written by Luke, you can see the acts of the apostles, and the Power of the Holy Spirit flowing. In Acts 6:3 we see they chose 7 men full of the Holy Sprit and wisdom. Stephen was a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit. Verse 8 ‘and Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. He was a man fully yielded to the Holy Spirit.
Take time now and yield to the Holy Spirit. Listen to His voice. Everyday pray in the Sprit, speaking in other tongues, like on the day of Pentecost Acts 2:1-4 and your Spiritual life will go to new heights.
Have a blessed week
