How Big is Your God?
We are sometimes defeated in life's situations because of a lack of understanding of our position in Christ.
Ephesians 1 & 2 are probably the 2 most important chapters in the New Testament in knowing who we are in Christ.
Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption. i.e. - who we are
Ephesians 1:11 In Him we have an inheritance. i.e. - what we have
Ephesians 1:11-12 In Him we trusted (believed)
Failing to appropriate these truths will limit the bigness of God in our lives.
Ephesians 1:18 states that the ‘eyes of our understanding (or spirit) be enlightened that you may know....’
His calling His inheritance, His Power! When we ‘see’ what He has done for us our problems become insignificant in the light of His greatness.
“Faith does not deny a problem exists - it denies it a place of influence.” Its difficult to believe God if we don’t know who we are or what we have in Him!
So the question is:- How BIG is your God or how big are your problems?
Ephesians 2:1 ‘you He made alive!’
Verses 4-6 states that God Himself has
- made us alive together!
- raised us up together!
- made us sit together! What for?
Verse 7 ‘that in the ages to come or the universes (Aramaic) plural.
He might display His kindness toward us! - That’s awesome! Not just our universe - but universes. Our galaxy is only one among many billions in the known universe.
To understand how BIG God is lets look at an example of how big our universe is.
If the sun were hollow 1,300,000 earths could fit inside it! A star named Antares could hold 64,000,000 of our suns!
That's BIG in fact that's HUGE that's our God! - Read Psalms 147: 3-5 & Isaiah 40:26.
Yet in the Bigness of who God is, we are not insignificant. He wants to do for you & me:- ‘Exceedingly! Abundantly! Above ALL that we ask or think’ Ephesians 3:20
BELEIVE BIG!
PRAY BIG!
EXPECT BIG!
YOUR GOD IS A BIG GOD!
