Jesus The Saviour of My Soul
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost Luke 19:10
Those who sincerely desire a sight of Christ, like Zacchaeus, will break through opposition and take pains to see Him. Jesus invited himself to Zacchaeus’ house. Wherever Christ comes he opens the heart, and inclines it to receive Him. He that has a mind to know Christ, shall be known of Him. Those who Jesus calls, must humble themselves and come down as Zacchaeus came down from the tree Luke 19:1-10 Zacchaeus showed sincerity of his faith and repentance.
Now that he is saved from his sins, from the guilt of them, from the power of them, all the benefits of salvation are his. Christ came to his house, and where Christ comes he brings salvation with Him. He came into this lost world to seek and to save it. His design was to save. When there was no salvation in any other. He seeks those that do not seek Him and do not look for Him.
Salvation brings much joy, as peace floods into the soul of mankind. So much joy came to my life and into our home, the day I surrendered my life and will to Jesus. David prayed in Ps 51:12 in his prayer of repentance, showing that sin will rob you of your joy.
Verse 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me with your generous spirit.
On Sunday we looked at Pauls conversion, and his Christ encounter on the road to Damascus. Damascus means a sack full of blood YUK.
In all the history of Christianity no single conversion to Christ carried with it such momentous results to the whole world, as that of Saul the persecutor, afterward Paul the Apostle. Luke includes 3 accounts of Pauls encounter with Jesus.
Acts 9:1-9 Saul made havoc of the church, persecuting Christians, and dragging men and women from house to house and putting them in prison.
God is the God of suddenly!!!
As we pray for people, family etc, never give up for your prayer is heard in Heaven. When the time is right in God’s eyes not ours, he will suddenly come. See Acts 9:3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Many people are saved this way. Rejecting the Lord, kicking against the goads and fighting against you and your Christian beliefs and then one day it is show down time!
Do you remember your encounter with the living Christ? Your before and after life in Jesus?
Phil 2:12b Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling as we do not want to come short of all that Heaven has for use.
With much love and peace in all you do
