Living Faith
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would afterward receive as an inheritance and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
Hebrews 11:8
The bible is full of men and women who took God at His word and walked by faith and trust. Abraham moved out of his home town, and lived by blind faith, not knowing where he was going. Faith is happy to step out not knowing where its going, so long as it knows who is going along. As long as God’s strong hand was holding Abraham, all would be well.
Abraham would have been asked “Where are you going?” “I don’t know” “Well how will you know when you get there?” “I don’t know, God said He would show me.” “You have a lot with you, how will you feed them?” “I don’t know, God said He would take care of me.”
He had No maps, No GPS, No RACQ brochure, No motel reservations. His caravan simply headed west toward the Mediterranean. He had living faith & blind faith, and a deep trust in his God.
Looking at Hebrews 11:1-40 Which is a power chapter of living faith.
Verse 1 Now faith is!! Then the word by faith is used 17 times verse 3 by faith, verse 4 by faith, verse 5 by faith. See how many you can find?
Years ago 1973 I was talking to my father about my new found faith. He was very interested, but didn’t understand. I didn’t know much, as I was a baby Christian. I said ‘dad on the inside I know I am different, and that living by faith is an exciting thing that I feel. I said I do not know where this will take me, but I feel I will travel all over the world and carry a message of Jesus.’ that just came out of my mouth. Those words have come to pass as Colleen and I have been to many nations, just being obedient to the call.
Only two people in the bible that Jesus said had great faith. The centurion and this woman. Matthew 15:21-28 Please read. If we want to see results, our faith needs to be put into actions.
She came to Jesus, so desperate for her demon possessed daughter to be healed, she would not take no for an answer, and faced rejection etc, but pushed on. Jesus said in verse 28 O woman, great is your faith! Great faith moves God. Such a cry came from her heart, all she wanted, was her daughter to be restored. What you believe will move you forward.
Prayer Is a mystery to me. But one thing I know is when we’re in a desperate place, prayer springs naturally from our lips and from the deepest level of our hearts. Lord Help Me is our natural cry.
It requires no special preparation, no precise vocabulary. No appropriate posture. Psalms 40:1 David said I cried to the Lord and He heard me.
Let me ask you? Is your faith alive and living? Don’t just settle for less than God’s best. Cry out for your healing, for your children, for your marriage, for your business etc. ‘Go again’ Ask, seek, knock Matthew 7:7-12
Have an awesome week.
