Remember Last Time God Helped You Succeed
Remember His marvellous works which He has done. His wonders and judgments of His mouth. 1 Chronicles 16:12
On Sunday I was looking at this word to Remember! Verse 9 says “Talk to His wondrous works! The word tells us to remember what He has done. He can do it again. Remember the last time God healed you? Turned a hard situation around? It’s these things we go back over, and our faith builds up again.
Why Remember when we allow the negative to take over it gets very discouraging, but when we remember, the good and stay positive, we start to feel better about things. To live a positive life! Stay focused on the good and not the bad, that is when we see change.
Paul tells us in Philippians 4:8 Finally brethren, whatever things are true, noble, pure, lovely a good report, any virtue (life), anything praise worthy, fix your mind on them! Mediate on these things.
Change your focus off the problem, and by your words and faith, start to trust in the God of Great Wonders, and Marvellous Works.
We all so quickly forget all the things that God has helped us with and sink into the valley of despair.
In Korea in the 1950’s many died in notorious prison camps while others survived. Numerous studies have tried to understand why some survival and others did not. While many prisoners gave into the authorities, others refused to be broken. Some committed themselves to strenuous physical exercise, others kept a log of the insects in their cells while others memorised stories.
They also refused to give in to the order not to communicate to one another and made up codes from either taps, broom sweeps and even the scrapes of their sandals. They reminded themselves that their bodies were captured but their spirits were not. There are many times when we are tempted to give into the challenges of life. To give up in the tough times, stop trying, and allow the values of those around us to become our values.
Like those who survived these prison camps, we are also called to active resistance. Ask God’s Spirit to help you not to surrender to the pressures that surround your life 2 Kings 20:1-11 King Hezekiah, faced a very dark time, when Isaiah said he was going to die!
Two things about his life
1. He did what was right
2. He trusted God.
These two qualities are what we are tempted to lose in the darkness
Psalm 105:5 Remember His marvellous works!
Be encouraged as you remember how heaven helped you to succeed last time, and say to yourself, He will help me again!!
Awesome blessings. “Lest We Forget”
In faith with you
