The Anointing - The Power to Heal
Jesus said to go, go & spread the good news; BUT His last words were WAIT! For what? The promise of the Father – His Spirit. [Acts 1:4-8] The power of the Holy Spirit is the strength in a believer’s life. Once you are equipped & empowered by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you now have the Anointing of Christ & His strength to go. Jesus never did any ministry until He also had the same.
Now Peter; never before a great speaker or in good control of himself, now equipped with the unction of the Holy Spirit, spoke with power & authority & saw the church grow like a fire – 3000 one day & 5000 another.
Wow now that’s results. Partnership with God!
We have the same as Peter & Jesus had. His “super” combined with our “natural” will make us see the supernatural. It was The Fathers great promise now for us to grow our personal understanding of this anointing & learn how to how to live empowered by it.
In Acts 3:1 we see Peter & John releasing this power into the cripple at the temple gate. How many times had they walked passed him before unnoticed? Now they are looking for opportunity to show Gods love.
How many opportunities to show God’s goodness do we walk pass daily? That cripple since birth, NOW in v.7 no-longer a cripple. What happened?
The power of the Holy Spirit released at the command of the believer.
Consider this: What if the cripple only got what he was asking for?
Our Father is a God of abundance [Eph3:20] & over & above.
Are we limiting God with our requests when He would really want to do more?
Many people have great needs today & you have something to give that is much greater than they know. You have the Spirit of the Creator of all things living in you & He has authorised you to freely give out….” such as I have….”.
Do you really know what you have in the person of the Holy Spirit?
The cripple wouldn’t even have considered that his healing was a possibility. But Peter & John did as imitators of Jesus, they had seen countless times the power of the Holy Spirit flow through Jesus. You have also seen His healing power in yourself & others. You have seen Him provide & do amazing things. You know this can happen. But where we limit God is in our believing & willingness to do our part to speak & stretch forth our hand for Him to work with.
Many times, we feel inadequate to do the tasks set before us. But this is actually where we are strongest because we must rely on the Holy Spirit & His anointing.
We need to talk to our soul & remind it who we have become. You are an ambassador of Heaven, equipped with the power of the Holy Spirit to reveal the love & goodness of God to the needy.
Spend time meditating over this – see it happening in your imagination.
Start where your faith is at & it will build. Let insecurity, doubt & fear lock you up it as a light hidden under a cover or a gift buried.
In the natural, electricity can kill, but let the power of the Holy Spirit kill the negatives like doubt & fear & anything else that would be a stumbling block to the plan of God for your life.
READ SLOWLY THINKING… You were born again & began the race, now filled with the Holy Spirit (the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead & created when God spoke...the same – can you believe it?) & already have every spiritual empowerment & blessing [Eph1:3].
Such great treasure God has put in you needs to be developed by talking to Him daily.
This infilling is not a once off encounter but needs to be fresh daily, for that day.
It’s hard to have a good partnership if you don’t know your partner well. Anyone that is good at something will tell you they didn’t get that way for nothing, they worked at it consistently.
What you hunger for is what you will be self-motivated to push into. Honestly, without the Holy Spirit working with us, we have really nothing, but with Him we have everything. Every Christian should be so hunger for more for Him and involving Him in your everything, literally.
Are you hungering for more of Him? He is calling you into greater intimacy with Him today. Get daily a fresh infilling & see God’s goodness flow through your life in amazing ways.
