Trusting in the Lord with ALL YOUR HEART - Ray Price

Proverbs 4:23 says “Watch over (guard) your heart (SOUL – mind, emotions

& will – or your THINKING, FEELING & CHOOSING part of you) with all

diligence, For from it flows the springs of life.” Because from our soul,

our life will flow…whether it be good or bad. Jesus said to seek first the

Kingdom of God – His way of operating Matthew 6:33. “Wisdom is the

principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get

    understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

Who do you say that you are today?

Often Christians compare God to sickness, lack or some other mountain by

how they worry & are anxious about these things; dwelling on their

problems, which exalts it in the area of their mind. If a small boy; who

was bullied daily, was to make friends with the biggest boy at school, then

the bullying would stop. We must spend time meditating on who we have

become in Christ; this understanding is paramount to our ability to walking

    in the spirit.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own

understanding” Proverbs 3:5. The Message translation puts it this way:

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out

everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do,

everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume

that you know it all.” What we need to know is; that our confidence, is

really in The One who knows it all. This One is the amazing Holy Spirit! He

is ever-ready to help us in every way, every day. What we must do is to

guard our heart (soul) because out of our thinking, feeling & choosing

will come our words, which will produce what we get in life.

We must understand about our soul-brain connection if we are to ever “renew

our mind” as commanded to in Romans 12:2. The soul is a non-physical thing

which programs the physical part – the brain. The brain responds to the

thoughts & feelings & choices that we make in your non-physical

soul, and then signals all areas of our body accordingly…right down to our

genetic & DNA levels of our body. So, YOU ARE THE ONE WHO programs your

brain by your reactions & thinking to all situations that you are faced

with… every time without fail. Therefore to ‘renew our mind’, we must be

our own brain surgeon & address bad thinking that we have programmed

ourselves with. The good news is today, that if you have wired your brain

in a particular way which is negative, then you are able to undo this

wiring and rewiring it according to how Jesus would think and react under

given stimulus with the help of the Holy Spirit. Neuroplasticity is the

ability for our brains to be rewired – scientists have only understood for

a short time, what the Bible has told us for 1000’s of years.

Proverbs 3:6 says “ In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct

(or make smooth or straight) your paths” so as God’s children we are not

designed to do life resting on our own understanding but to be referring to

Him in all things for His ‘perfect will’ & simply be asking His

direction in all our ways. This is connecting with Him: which is prayer. To

be continually looking to Him for all our choices is actually what it is to

‘pray without ceasing’ 1Thesalonians 5:17. This will require your own

    regular & deliberate personal effort!

In 3 John 2, we are told that our health & prosperity is directly

linked to how we think. Proverbs 23:7 says that we are, as we think we are.

Therefore, our personal deep thinking is so important & will determine

the kind of life that we will have. Philippians 4:6 tells us to “be anxious

for nothing”… not 1 thing. We live in a time where stress (anxiety,

pressure, fear, worry) is the root cause of almost all disease & death.

Jesus came to bring abundant life & Hebrews 4 tells us that there is a

    rest for Gods people.

The secret to gaining this rest in life is to be consciously, determined

    & focused on staying God-reliant & not self-reliant ... allowing

the Holy Spirit to be in the driving seat of your life, following

Philippians 4:4-9’s path to life. I encourage you to start today to

regulate your thoughts & be your own brain surgeon… & we can have

    the mind of Christ.
