Mark 10 v 46 - 52
1. When Bartimaeus heard that “IT WAS” Jesus the Nazareth passing by with his disciples and the Multitude. He DIDN’T JUST SIT THERE and let this opportunity of a life time pass by, when he knew that his whole world could change completely then and there. Yes, he was blind but he used his ears to hear, then his mouth to speak and shouted “Jesus, Son Of David have mercy on me”
Many Christian want something from God but just SIT THERE and are not willing to play their part and do what THEY CAN for God to Move and do what THEY CAN’T!! Some even come to Church and just sit there spiritually, yes they may be standing up singing along and participating but their mind and soul are in a totally different place which means spiritually they are JUST SITTING THERE. You will never see the goodness and mercy of Gods love and favour in your life, and in your circumstance if we are just going to sit there and let him pass by.
2. When Bartimaeus called out “Jesus, Son Of David have Mercy on me” the crowd told him to be quiet. But Bartimaeus was determined to not let that stop him, and he shouted out louder “Jesus, Son Of David have mercy on me”
As Christians we can all relate that there will always be people and things around us that will try and pull us down, or tell us to be quiet when we are seeking God or drawing close to him. But we must be like Bartimaeus and not go quiet but actually GET LOUDER in praise and worship, speaking in tongues and using his words through scripture to build ourselves up and don't give up.
3. When Bartimaeus decided to not go quiet but got louder, the Bible say Jesus STOOD STILL and said to him disciples to call him.
4. Jesus Stopped and put all his plans for that day on hold for that ONE PERSON who didn’t stop calling his name even when people were telling him to be quiet. When we push through circumstances that seems too hard or looks impossible, by focusing on Jesus and calling on his Name. He will show up and pull you through and answer your Hearts desire.
5. Jesus ask Bartimaeus “What do you want me to do for you?”
Jesus knew exactly what Bartimaeus wanted but he still ask the question. Because it puts Jesus in control of HIS SITUATION. Bartimaeus wanted something he didn't have which was his sight, but he also knew that only Jesus could give it to him.
