All throughout the Bible we can see where mighty things happened for those who were praisers of God. Our Creator knows the purpose and plan for our life plus in His love, He has given us a manual for life that we can know also the best way to live. Praise the Lord we don’t have to stumble around, but we can purposefully put into action His ways through being doers of His Word and be people of praise.
In 1 Thess. 5:16-18 we are instructed to “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
In Ps 69:29-30 shows us what to do in times of need…. “But I am poor and sorrowful; Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high. I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.”
Ps 50:14-15,23 tells us to “Offer to God thanksgiving…I (God) will deliver you and you shall glorify (or praise) Me.”
Have you ever thought about what happens in the spirit realm when we praise and worship God?
While we can’t see what happens in the invisible realm when we praise, we can see its effects. Meditate on these 2 examples in the Word of impossible situations that were completely changed through praising and worshipping God.
In Acts 16 where Paul and Silas were imprisoned but “they were praying and singing hymns to God”(v.25) and suddenly all changed and they were set free plus the lives of those around them also experienced great change.
In 2 Chron. 20 when Israel was about to be completely destroyed by 3 great armies in impossible odds. They were instructed to praise the Lord and He would fight on their behalf and deliver them. V.22 “Now when they began to sing and praise...” The Lord Himself bought about a great victory with no arrow fired, no blood shed on Judah’s side and a great war spoil! Amazing! NOTE: First they did; then God did.
Praise is a powerful weapon that will transform a situation or circumstance, but so often, in a time of need we do not, or will not praise. The creation (us) often think that we know more than the Creator because when we are given instructions in the Bible, we don’t follow them. We live in a fallen world ruled by the flesh and feelings. We must walk by faith and praise God when we don’t feel like it – it is these times that we will see the greatest effects of praise. Yes if we will praise Him in all things, we will set ourselves free from fear and move into faith and see His faithfulness in our life.
When you praise, you take your eyes off the circumstance and put them on God. You say to God “I magnify and trust you more than this situation that is before me. God, I know that you are Supreme and that my life is in your hands.” You actually give God permission to move in your life.
Your praises of God will build your faith and trust in Him. SO determine to be a praiser of God in the good and bad times, whether you feel like it or not; after all, this is what He seeks.
You will see that He is your God of more than enough, more than you can ask, think or imagine. Praise His Holy name, ESPECIALLY when it’s a sacrifice of praise in tough times!
At church and the prayer meetings are great places to develop your high praises of our marvelous wonder working God. He is truly worthy of all our praise. Let us praise Him together!
