Hold Fast?

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

Last Sunday we were looking at Gods Word about encouraging one another praying for each other etc. Gods Word is full of encouragement and as you read it, your faith is built up and your Spirit starts to rise up on the inside of you and your mouth starts to speak life and hope.

Heb 10:25 “exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching”.
When things get hard we start to give up on all that works and things we have held dear in our hearts.

Heb 10:35-36 “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance. So that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.”

Many years ago, a man was arrested in the Soviet Union, after a sham trial, he was sentenced to twenty years of hard labor in the Siberian Gulag. Seven days a week and fourteen hours a day, he worked in fierce cold winters and swarms of ravenous insects in summer, a lot of men died from exhaustion and others became bitter and hardened.

This man found Christ and his life took on new meaning. He thanked God for the meager food and he learned to experience joy in that desolate place.

On the day he was released, the man walked out the gates, turned and to the astonishment of the guards, kissed the walls of the prison camp, “I found God, and He found me, and I am so thankful. He went on to preach and teach people “The love of Christ”.
