Pentecostal Preaching
“With many other words he testified and exhorted them saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” Then those who gladly received his word were baptized and that day about three thousand souls were added to them” Acts 2:40-41
What a powerful book the Book of Acts is!! I love to read and study it every day!
Peter had just come out of a 10 day prayer meeting, in one place, one accord, expecting the promise that Jesus told them to wait for, then suddenly a blast from heaven and they are all filled with the Holy Spirit and Fire! No wonder Peter was full of boldness, and the unction of the Holy Spirit was upon him and he was endued with the power from on high.
All the way through his preaching, he stuck to the Scriptures, he was focused upon Christ and he was filled with the Holy Spirit!! That was Pentecostal preaching.
What does this say for us today?
The symbol of the new dispensation is a “Tongue of Fire”. The great weapon of Christ’s witnesses is to be Spirit Filled utterance, not military might, nor political pressure, nor any other worldly way, but a “Tongue of Fire”. The human organ transmitting divine power.
Both Colleen and I have had a wonderful break, and thanks to all for keeping the wheels turning.
Love you all so much, Pastors Stuart and Colleen Price
