The Seeds You Sow

“You will be made rich in every way
so that you can be generous on every occasion.”
2 Corinthians 9:11 NIV

The Bible has a lot to say on the blessings of sowing and reaping and a heart attitude in our giving! 2 Cor 9:6-7b “But this I say, He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. And he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully, so let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity for God loves a cheerful giver.”

I read a story about Fitz Kreisler, the world famous violinist, he earned a fortune through his concerts, but he gave most of it away. Once when he discovered an exquisite violin, he wasn’t able to buy it. Later when he had the money, it had been sold to a collector, so Kreisler went to see the man and pleaded for the violin, but the man said, “no it is my prized possession”. Disappointed, Kreisler said “can I play it just once before it is consigned to silence?”, the owner said yes, and the great virtuoso filled the room with such music that the collector was moved to tears, deeply stirred, he said, “I have no right to keep this to myself, its yours, take it into the world and let people hear it.”

Nothing lives in the Dead Sea because it takes in water, but doesn’t give any out. The quickest way to die spiritually is to hoard your blessings, and chase spiritual experiences from one place to another.
