Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart
Ps Stuart Price 6th September 2020
The Apostle Paul tells us about the importance of being thankful even when things are hard or in times of persecution. Paul was continually drawing out in gratitude for the great things God had done.
To be a grateful person means you are thankful towards the person or people who have helped you or given you something that you consider of great value. A grateful person develops a deeper appreciation for life.
We quite often take the people we love for granted. Taking things or people for granted shows a lack of appreciation or gratitude. Do you value what you have?
Pastor Stuart referred back to these verses as examples of how and why we should be continuously thankful with a grateful heart, just like the Apostle Paul.
Col 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Col 1:4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love you have to all the saints,
Col 1:5 for the hope which is laid up for you in Heaven, of which you heard before in the Word of the truth of the gospel,
Col 4:2 Continue in prayer and watch in it with thanksgiving,
Psa 9:1 I will praise You, O Jehovah, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvellous works.
Psa 9:2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
Psa 7:17 I will praise Jehovah according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of Jehovah most high.
