How to Rest in the Lord

Because we are a restless people always busy, we need to remember Hebrews 4:1 to 11 where we are given a small history lesson on God's people of the Old Testament entering into Gods rest, simple instructions of how to enter into God's rest, the Apostle Paul is very clearly saying we must labour to get into God's rest, if we don't we will fall into unbelief.

Entering into Gods rest is a commandment and is just as important as all the others. But with life being as busy as it is these days, we often tend to forget.

Jesus said "Come to Me all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Take My yoke on you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest to your souls. (Mathew 11:28-29) Here Jesus is talking about spiritual rest.

As we go flying through life without taking time to get renewed in the Presence of the Lord, we ignore the need to sit, to rest, to wait upon Jesus. We need to say "I need to move slower" I need to get my spiritual batteries recharged.

What does it means when Jesus said come to Him? in the Greek Laboring means - A person who has become completely exhausted due to being nonstop. On the go all the time.

In December 2019 Ps Stuart had a dream, "You need to slow down".

If you don't slow down you will miss things and life will pass you by. There needs to be a balance in everything you do, you need to take time to "smell the roses", appreciate the good things in life.

Do yourself a favour, take time today, now, to be in the Lord's presence, seek His face. You will be surprised just how refreshed you will feel after.
