The Power of Praying in the Spirit

The Bible is our Hand Book for living life and living a Spirit-Filled live of victory. We are told in the Bible that we are a three-part being Spirit, Soul, and Body, and when we are Born Again we take on the Spiritual Man as well as the Natural man. Just as food feeds the natural body, every word in the Bible is spiritual food for the Spirit Man.

So many Christians are so fearful about doing the wrong thing so much that they are frozen and do nothing at all. They believe the story's of; it's of the devil or it's not for today. The devil has done a good job keeping them bound in fear that keeps them from God's Supernatural Power.

Everything has a voice, animals, humans, and the Spirit. In Acts 2:1-16 the Bible tells us that all the Disciples were present when a rushing wind burst into the house, and they all saw a pillar of fire, as they watched on it separated into tongues of fire and wrapping itself around each one of them, they were all filled and equipped to speak in tongues a gift from the Spirit. This was a language that they had never learned before.

To pray in tongues is to pray in God's language to God. Paul describes this in 1 Corinthians 14:1-5Verse 4 talks of speaking in tongues as Edification, this means building up. James the Brother of Jesus wrote in his letter Jude verse 20 "But you beloved, building yourselves up on your most Holy Faith, Praying in the Holy Spirit"
Paul in Romans 8:26 talks about our prayer life, he says that by praying even if we do not know what or how to pray if we pray in the Spirit, the Spirit Himself will make intercession for us. In His letter to Timothy (1 Timothy 4:14) he tells him to not neglect the gift that is in you, and again in 2 Timothy 1:6 Paul reminds him to stir up the Gift of God which is in you.

There is a common theme whereby praying more in tongues, in the Spirit the more empowered and built up you will become in the Spirit. I encourage you to use the gift, to pray and speak in tongues more than your human language, imagine the power of praying exactly what God wants you to pray when He wants you to pray it. You will become more and more powerful in the spirit and you will become an overcomer.

1 Corinthians 14:2 Paul says "For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit, he speaks mysteries." and in verse 18 "I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all"
